Kodachadri Trek

Mountains call you when you need to heal yourself. When you think about your life, and don't understand what to do, mountains help you realize that how tiny you are in front of this universe, how small you lifespan is! It makes you forget the unimportant things and events of life and makes you more focused, determined and oriented. I need to go the mountains, I was missing them badly!

Early morning foggy road. Around 20 km away from homestay. We stopped so that the driver can wake up from his nap!

The trek was followed by a crazy ride in the Jeep! The time passed by shouting, singing Pink Flyod and GnR songs. Looking at the stars while hanging at the back of the jeep was amazing.
After delicious dinner at the homestay (bhajjis were the best) we sat down at the camp fire. The night progressed with singing songs, then horror stories and finally Anushka's birthday celebration!

Day-2: Nagara Fort

Yoga Gurus

After visiting the fort, the journey back to Bangalore was full of fun! Nice lunch at Shimoga, sharing stories, ice cream, Mafia and the crazy dance in the bus! End of another weekend!

The trip of my life! - Part 1 - From Bangalore to Bangkok

Three of us sitting in an ancient car - white Tata Indica cab in which nothing except engine works! Wondering whether we will be able to reach the Bangalore International Airport on time through this irritating traffic! But soon we were out of the traffic and were going at a good speed. We had to pick up the third guy Abhijeet! Me and Gautam met him in our Malaysia trip six months back. We had some kind of understanding about him, we didn't know him well. And he joined us for an 18 days long trip to Laos and Thailand.

After some confusion about his location in the middle of our way to airport, we found him and he hopped in, after thinking for 2 minutes whether to keep his bag at back or front! He was the centre of attraction now! We started talking to him and asking him silly things. By the time we reached airport, we knew that he had sex only once in his twenty-nine years old life, for that he paid in Pounds!

We cleared through customs, security et. and sat inside the cheapest flight to Bangkok. Everything started flashing to me. How much planning I have do for this trip, how much money I have saved, and this is really happening! And I was so excited about it. Having a sleepless flight, we reached Bangkok at 4:30 am! Sa-wa-di-kaaaaa! Only Abhijeet didn't had a Visa! He went to apply for Visa On Arrival (VOA), and we waiting for him, joking about the funny accent Thai people have.

Our next flight was in four hours. So we went outside to find some breakfast. After crossing the widest, busiest road I have ever seen in my life, we saw 7-11 and some street food around us. I was in full-on "try some Thai stuff" mood. After looking around into so many food stalls, we found one with nicely cooked rice, a big bowl of some soup, and a big bowl of fried pork. We tried rice and pork. The taste was strange! Abhijeet liked it.

We walked around, saw temple, school parade, local market, local streets, and came back to airport. But we saw a lot of things in Bangkok in those 2 hours! We took our next flight to Udon Thani at 10:55 am. It is a city very next to Thai-Lao border. I don't think there much to do or see there. We had to go to Nong Khai border to enter Laos. The minibus was costing 200 BHT per person. It is around 55 km from border. We talked to a cabby, he was asking 900 BHT for hiring the cab for 4 of us. We agreed at 800 BHT. You should bargain more if you are in Thailand!
